This matching pair of tea cups (Meoto Yunomi) is a distinguished example of Suigetsu ware from Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture. The set consists of two cups in different sizes, traditionally intended for a couple.

Each cup features the kiln's signature motif: a highly realistic, hand-sculpted crab (Tenjin Crab). The crabs are painted in vivid red with intricate details, set against a textured, unglazed band that perfectly mimics a sandy riverbank. This rough texture creates a striking contrast with the smooth, creamy white glaze, which is enhanced by a beautiful crackle pattern (kannyu).

The bottom of each cup bears the impressed "Suigetsu" (水月) seal, certifying its authenticity. The dynamic expression of the crabs and the warmth of the handcrafted pottery make this set a perfect collectible or a meaningful gift.
