This is an exceptional  Kutani porcelain bottle vase with a distinct long neck, an outstanding piece of Japanese ceramics .
The vase features a dramatic design painted by a master craftsman, characterized by a rich, warm iron-red background and intricate white, black, and gold overglaze enamels depicting chrysanthemums, stylized birds (possibly phoenix or cranes), and auspicious clouds. The contrasting colors and detailed work exemplify the high quality of Kutani porcelain from this period.
Its provenance is confirmed by a sticker on the base from Sotheby's Chester, indicating its history as a valuable item previously offered at auction. This adds significant weight to its status as a rare and collectible work of art.
