This remarkable set of ten antique lidded bowls (Futatsuki Chawan) is an exquisite example of the classic Ko-Imari (Old Imari) style porcelain. We estimate this set was crafted between 150 and 200 years ago, dating to the late Edo or early Meiji period (late 18th to mid-19th century).

These bowls are hand-painted in the highly sought-after Kinrande (Gold Brocade) palette, utilizing the rich combination of underglaze blue (sometsuke), vibrant iron red (aka-e), and lavish gold highlights. The exterior features dynamic scenes of flying birds—possibly Phoenix or Cranes—set amidst stylized clouds and foliage, symbolizing good fortune and longevity.

Finding a large, cohesive set of ten pieces intact is exceptionally rare for porcelain of this age, making this collection particularly desirable. Each bowl bears a subtle square mark on the base of the foot ring, attesting to its authentic origin from the Arita region. 非常に人気のある**「金襴手（きんらんで）」の技法で手描きされており、濃い藍色の染付、鮮やかな赤絵、そして豪華な金彩を惜しみなく使って彩られています。器の外側には、吉祥の象徴である鳳凰または鶴**と思われる鳥が、雲や唐草模様の中を舞う躍動感あふれる情景が描かれています。
